Global Emergency Fund(GEF)
The Global Emergency Fund(GEF) project came about as a drought response measure. It gave cash transfers to beneficiaries so that they could obtain basic necessities like food, soap and other basics.
ADH Climate Smart Agriculture
The ADH Climate Smart Agriculture project is a project aimed at addressing food insecurity among older persons.
Older persons are trained in Climate smart agricultural practices, such as irrigation, as opposed to the less reliable rain fed agriculture.
The project also equips older persons with agricultural implements, seeds, manure and pesticides to shore up crop production.
Support For Women's Rights and Empowerment
This project is implemented by Echami A Ito with funding and legal aid provided by FIDA-Kenya.
The aim of this project is to carry out advocacy on women’s rights and to provide free legal aid to women and girls at the community level. The project also supports mentorship of young girls in learning institutions and the community at large.
Other activities aimed at supporting equity and well being among women such as: support for access to menstrual hygiene products and de-stigmatization of the menstrual process are undertaken.
Collaborative Center for Gender Equality
Echami A Ito collaborated with the Collaborative Center for Gender Equality (CCDG) as a the local partner in a relief distribution drive. The drive was aimed towards women and girls who had been displaced by floods.
Dignity kits for women and girls and baby diapers forchildren aged between 0-3 years of age were distributed to 402 beneficiaries in four village units in Turkana Central and Turkana West Subcounties.
